2020 is a year where a dream comes true! A design that I made for a music studio is going to be realized. I am going to build a 42m2 wooden shed, with a 27m2 control room, a 3m2 live booth a 4m2 bathroom and a 8m2 kitchen. Later in the control room we’re going to make an open bedroom to make it acoustically and ergonomically responsible.

From a young age architecture and acoustics had a certain impact on me. It was until I got in my twenties I started to see my own possibilities for working with those inseparable subjects of interest.

Earlier in my life I never took the chance of gaining knowledge about engineering. Later I studied audio engineering and learned a lot about acoustics, which got me back on my interest for architecture again. Now that I finally have a chance to work with both I find a refreshing amount of inspiration in it! Of course we’re dealing with a budget and I can’t fulfill all the wishes, but it’s actually very helpful to have restrictions in such a way that certain ideas that pop up can immediately be separated in being realistic or unrealistic.

The plan is to document as much of the building process as possible. And give as much explanation during all the steps. As you can possibly imagine chronology is key in these kind of projects, and this is also my first time. So thinking everything out and sorting it in such a way that you never have to take a step back in to process is taking up most of my time now. As soon as physical stuff is taking place, I will update my instagram and it will automatically be visible on this page.
